March 14, 2002 New Direction for Daytona.com

Daytona.com will soon have a new look. Today, company president John Prosser announced work is being completed on a new website format that will include significantly greater levels of information content and new innovative features.The new site is designed to promote the attractions and diverse businesses of the greater Daytona Beach/Volusia County area. The new Daytona.com format is scheduled to go online in July.

The company has established a number of objectives for the website. “The name Daytona.com makes it a prime destination for hospitality, entertainment, real estate, and travel related services”, said Prosser. Currently, over 85 percent of our visitors make inquiries about hotel room accommodations, attractions, and special event activities.

Development of the Daytona.com website will be overseen by Mike Ulrich, the company’s project manager. While satisfying visitor requests and needs is the site’s primary goal, Ulrich envisions a broader scope of information resources and services. “There is a tremendous need to provide a central locale for the residents of Daytona Beach and Volusia County to access the information and services important to their everyday lives. There are well over 1,000 local businesses, independent agents, government agencies, and institutions all trying to get the word out. We are developing a number of media and promotional mechanisms that will help these organizations achieve their worldwide web marketing objectives.”

Later this year the company will develop several other area information websites that will be jointly marketed with the new Daytona.com format. The company will offer unique promotional opportunities in association with bikeweek.com and biketoberfest.com.
